YOUTH DEPARTMENT

In a Catholic Diocese, the Youth Department (or Youth Apostolate) is the pastoral arm responsible for the spiritual, social, and psychological development of young people. Its mission is to transform "the youth of today into the Church of tomorrow" by keeping them engaged in their faith during critical transition years. The department typically serves three distinct groups:
  1. Missionary Youth / Teens (ages 13–18): Often focused on high school students and those preparing for Confirmation.
  2. Young Christian Students (YCS): Specific outreach to those in secondary schools and colleges.
  3. Young Catholic Adults (YCA) (ages 19–35): Professionals, university students, and young couples.
