In a Catholic diocese, the Finance Administrator (often called the Economus or Financial Officer in Canon Law) is the professional responsible for the "temporal goods" of the Church.While the Bishop has the ultimate authority, the Finance Administrator is the expert who ensures the diocese stays solvent, transparent, and compliant with both Church (Canon) law and Civil law.
